Practical Support. Professional Results.

Running a small business often means doing far more than the work you originally set out to do.

There are emails to answer, social media to keep up with, websites to update, spreadsheets to manage, systems to organise and countless little jobs that quietly eat into your working week.

Lou-Can-Do gives you flexible, experienced support across different areas of the business, so you don't need to hire separate people for admin, marketing, websites and general organisation.

You focus on running and growing your business. I'll help with the work behind it.

THE REALITY OF RUNNING A SMALL BUSINESS

One Business. Lots of Hats.

Running a rural business often means doing far more than the job you originally set out to do.

The builder still has enquiries to answer. The food producer needs social media posts. The contractor has quotes to send. The maker needs a website update. And the new business owner is trying to work out systems, marketing and paperwork while actually earning a living.

That's where flexible support can make a real difference. I can pick up the jobs you're struggling to get to, help improve the way things are organised or work alongside you on the ideas that could help your business grow.

You carry on doing what you're good at. I'll help with the things getting in the way.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

“I know I need to sort the website, but I haven't got time.”

“Social media is always the first thing to get forgotten.”

“I've got an idea for growing the business, but I never get around to it.”

“The admin gets done at night after I've finished the actual work.”

“I could really do with someone who can just get on with it.”

You don't necessarily need another employee. Sometimes you just need reliable help when and where it's useful.

SPECIALIST SECTOR SUPPORT

Need More Specialist Support?

Alongside general rural business support, I also offer specialist help in three sectors where I have particularly strong first-hand experience.

QUESTIONS? LET'S MAKE IT SIMPLE

Frequently Asked Questions

Flexible support means you don't need to fit your business into a set package. Here are a few of the things people often want to know before getting in touch.

How much support can I book?

Every business is different. You might need a few hours for a one-off job, occasional help when things get busy or regular monthly support. We can agree something that works for your business and budget.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. Support is flexible, with pay-as-you-go, regular monthly support and bespoke project work available depending on what you need.

What sort of rural businesses do you work with?

All sorts. From rural trades, contractors, makers, food businesses and independent retailers to property, equestrian and tourism businesses. If you're based in or serve a rural community and need practical business support, there's a good chance I can help.

Can you help if I'm starting a new business?

Absolutely. I can help turn an idea into something practical, from research and planning to websites, systems, marketing and getting the basics in place for launch.

Can you work with the systems I already use?

Usually, yes. I regularly work with WordPress, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, social media platforms and a wide range of online business tools. I'm also happy to learn the systems your business already relies on.

Do you only work remotely?

Most support is provided remotely, which keeps things flexible and means you don't need to provide office space or take on the overheads of employing someone. Depending on location and the project, face-to-face support may also be possible.

What if I don't know exactly what help I need?

That's absolutely fine. Sometimes you simply know you're too busy, things are getting missed or there's an idea you never have time to develop. We can talk through what's happening in the business and work out where support would make the biggest difference.
